Beach babe hair

The summer months are great for experimenting with new easy-breezy styles and relaxed do's. Summertime is definitely my hair's favourite season too, as I calm down on doing proper blow-drys,and opt for something a little more casual. Think of the Olsen twins meets Kate Moss at the beach. Swoon.

To get my casual beachy look I use two products. Mark Hill Holiday Hair Beach Babe & VO5 Give Me Texture Dry Spray. The beach babe product I only incorporate during the summer months but the VO5 I use regularly because it's bloody great (more on that later).

To start I wash my hair and then spray a tiny amount of the beach babe, the reason being, basically, if you use too much your hair will be like straw and you will not be able to remove a hairbrush from it. I speak from experience.Next I rough dry the hair on a cool setting and when it's nearly 100% dry I leave it for a few minutes to settle down. I give it a quick light brush (with the most amazing brush of all time) the trusty Tangle Teezer and then begin to curl the hair in sections with a large barrel tongs. Don't be too fussy with this part, the aim is beachy and undone so the messier the better.

Finally I spray the beach babe lightly throughout the hair (go easy, less is more), scrunching and roughing up the hair as I go before giving it a whizz of the VO5  dry texture spray.

The VO5 is a great little budget find I stumbled upon a few weeks back. It gives your hair that messy, lived in second-day hair that personally I adore. Spray this liberally all over your hair, after blow-drying  and it sexes up your look immediately. Amazing.

And that's it. It sounds like a lot, but once you have the routine down, it becomes a very easy look to master.
